Introduction
For many global buyers of vehicle light, quality stability has always been a big worry. Many lighting factories only send samples to outside test labs once.
They do this just to get official certificates. After they start mass production, they stop regular reliability checks. This leads to many common problems when customers use the lamps in real working conditions. Some lights lose brightness quickly after working for hundreds of hours. Some lenses turn yellow under long-time sunlight. Some lamps take in water after high-pressure washing. Internal wires become loose from constant vibration on rough roads.
Metal brackets and screws start to rust quickly in coastal, humid areas. All these issues create extra after-sales trouble for distributors all over the world. To solve these widespread quality problems,
GIT Lighting has fully equipped our own in-house reliability laboratory.
We divide all tests into four main groups: Optical Performance Testing, Electronic Parameter Testing, Structural Durability Testing and Environmental Adaptability Testing. Every test simulates tough real working environments. Our test objects cover new product prototypes and randomly selected goods from bulk orders. The test standards follow DOT, SAE, ECE and GB regulations. These standards help our partners sell LED work lights legally in North America, Europe, Australia and many other global markets.
Four Main Test Groups Inside Our Reliability Lab
1. Optical Performance Testing
Light performance is the core value of vehicle auxiliary lights. Many suppliers print unreal brightness data on catalogs without real optical testing. Our optical testing equipment stops false labeling and keeps steady light output for every finished lamp.
Integrating Sphere The integrating sphere is used to measure key optical data. It checks luminous flux, color temperature, CRI, light spectrum and working electrical parameters. Our technical team adjusts LED chips and internal light structures based on test results. In this way, every lamp can reach the light performance written on product specifications.
162㎡ Optical Testing Darkroom Our large 162 square meters darkroom is specially built for light distribution testing. Engineers check beam shape, lighting distance and irradiation range. Every newly developed LED work light must pass this test. It ensures the light pattern meets international standards and provides safe, clear illumination for off-road vehicles, trucks and engineering machines.
2. Electronic Performance & Long-Term Ageing Testing
Sudden lamp failure and gradual brightness drop are usually caused by unstable drive circuits and poor heat dissipation design. Our ageing and thermal testing equipment checks the long-running stability of each lamp model
Switch Cycle & Continuous Ageing Test Each test sample runs non-stop for at least 1000 hours. We also carry out more than 100,000 power on-off cycle tests. This condition copies frequent start-stop operation of mining vehicles, construction machines and farm equipment. We can find weak design points at the early research stage and improve products before mass production.
Thermal Imaging Temperature Test The thermal imaging camera records real-time heat distribution inside the lamp shell during operation. We track peak temperature and heat transfer status. Test data guides us to optimize heat sinks and housing structure. Better heat control slows down light decay and greatly extends the whole service life of LED lights.

3. Structural Durability & Mechanical Resistance Testing
Off-road lamps often face flying stones, accidental hits and long-time vibration on bumpy roads. A strong mechanical structure prevents cracked lenses, broken housings and disconnected internal parts.
Falling Ball Impact Test We drop heavy balls from 0.5 meters to 1.5 meters to hit lamp samples. This simulates stone impacts during vehicle driving. After impact, we check whether PC lenses, lamp shells and assembly structures stay intact.
Electromagnetic Vibration Test Our vibration machine works within 10Hz to 2000Hz and reaches up to 5G vibration strength. It creates the same bumpy conditions found in mine roads, forest trails and rough construction sites. After the vibration test, our team carefully checks loose wires, shifted internal components and housing deformation.

4. Environmental Adaptability Testing
Vehicles work in many extreme environments: freezing cold winter areas, hot dry deserts, rainy humid zones and coastal areas with heavy salt fog. Our environmental test machines recreate these conditions to verify outdoor long-term reliability.
IPX6K & IPX9K High-Pressure Hot Water Jet Test We spray 80°C high-temperature hot water under 100 bar pressure towards lamps from all directions. This test proves our lights can stand powerful hot water cleaning, which is widely used for agricultural machines and engineering vehicles.
Constant Temperature and Humidity Chamber This climate chamber creates temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C. Humidity can be adjusted between 20% RH and 98% RH. It simulates extreme cold, high heat and damp weather. We observe sealing performance and circuit stability when temperature changes sharply.
5% NaCl Salt Spray Test Chamber We use 5% salt water spray to run continuous anti-corrosion testing. It tests metal brackets, surface coatings and mounting screws. The test results help us select proper surface treatment solutions for customers from coastal regions.
UV Resistance Ageing Test Continuous UV light irradiation and alternating condensation simulate long-time outdoor sunlight exposure. This test avoids common problems such as lens yellowing and surface paint peeling after years of outdoor use.

What Benefits Does Our In-House Lab Bring to Global Partners?
Most LED light manufacturers only send samples to third-party labs to get certificates. This method slows down new product development. It also makes quick design adjustments difficult when product defects appear.
GIT Lighting’s self-owned testing laboratory brings clear advantages for global distributors, brand owners and OEM customers: Fast prototype testing during OEM and ODM custom projects. It shortens the whole development cycle of new lighting products.
We can provide complete official test data, helping you complete product certification and smoothly enter target markets.
We keep updating all existing product lines continuously based on test feedback, to achieve better quality generation by generation.
Conclusion
Heavy-duty machinery, off-road vehicles, mining trucks and agricultural equipment need LED lights that keep stable performance for many years under harsh conditions. GIT Lighting will keep upgrading our laboratory equipment and add more automotive-grade testing items in the future. Our goal is to supply tougher, more reliable LED work lights to partners all over the world.
